Luminous seeks to expand its engineering team with a new Workshop Technician to manufacture, assemble and test products within the Luminous product range. This is a broad role where you will be able to put your engineering and organisational skills into practice in many varied ways.
Role: Full-time, 5 days per week, initial 6-month fixed term contract with a view to extend
Location: Apple Lane, Exeter, Devon
Salary: Depending on Experience

With a natural interest in engineering and an eye for detail and precision, you will play a key role in supporting the Luminous team and will have the opportunity be involved with creating innovative products for some of the most exciting ceremonies, shows and events across the world. Duties will include, but not be limited to:
Mechanical and electrical assembly of products including preformed metalwork, electrical components and hydraulic systems
Manufacture of cable assemblies
Work with other departments to highlight any errors that are found during assembly & testing and to help develop ideas to minimise errors in future
Maintain a clean, tidy and safe workshop area
Skills and Experience
Must have an eye for detail and seek to ensure all work is to the highest standard
Experience with metal fabrication processes and techniques
Experience with electrical assembly, wire termination, crimping, terminals
Experience with high pressure pipework systems, plumbing and fluid systems
Experience with soldering
Ability to follow detailed instructions
Experience of using SolidWorks 3D CAD software to view and manipulate documents would be beneficial.
You will be highly self-motivated and have a passion for engineering and excellent attention to detail. Combined with this, you will have a desire to develop your career within a young business with the ambition to play an increasingly influential role.
Coupled with your engineering skills, you are someone who can use your initiative with minimal direction and can identify what work needs doing and how to go about it.
