Hours: 9am – 5pm, Mon – Fri

Salary: £21,500 – £29,500 per annum – subject to skills and experience

 

THE COMPANY

Luminous Show Technology is an award-winning engineering company that designs and builds advanced special effects equipment for the global entertainment industry.

Our products include flame systems, atmospheric effects and custom mechanical or water-based installations. They are used in shows, attractions and live events around the world, where safety, reliability and consistent performance are essential.

We bring together mechanical, electrical and control engineering with practical, hands-on build work. Everything we make is assembled and tested in our Exeter workshop before it goes out on site.

Founded in 2017, we have grown quickly through a strong, practical engineering culture, focused on innovation and continuous improvement. In 2026, we received a King’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation for our engineering achievements.

We are now looking for an Assembly Technician to join our production team and help build our special effects equipment.

 

THE ROLE

You will assemble electro-mechanical equipment in our production workshop, following clear instructions and working to a high standard. You’ll help test products before dispatch, keep tools and work areas tidy, and support a safe working environment. Full training will be provided.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Assemble equipment in line with standard procedures
  • Work under instruction to ensure assembly is accurate and to a high standard
  • Assist with testing equipment prior to packing and dispatch
  • Be a proactive member of the team by raising assembly issues and maintaining a safe working environment
  • Clean and maintain tools/equipment
  • Follow all health and safety guidelines

 

THE PERSON

Essential skills/experience:

  • Enjoys practical hands-on working
  • Proactive, positive attitude
  • Good attention to detail
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK

 

Desirable skills/experience:

  • Previous experience in mechanical or electrical assembly
  • Hands-on experience of engineering hand tools and power tools
  • Experience in one or more of the following: mechanical assembly; electrical assembly; cabling and wiring; plumbing; welding; fabrication; maintenance & repair.
