LUMINOUS has been recognised in the ‘Creative Industries’ category. From day one, our mission has been clear – to create world-class special effects that inspire and elevate experiences. Whether it’s immersive rain displays, technical theatre effects, or towering water cannons, every LUMINOUS innovation is designed, developed and manufactured right here in the UK. To have our export success and creative impact acknowledged on a national stage is a huge moment for our team.
To mark the occasion, our co-founders Mike and Ed were invited to the Houses of Parliament, where they accepted the award from Gareth Thomas MP. As Ed puts it, “For SMEs like ours, exporting British-made innovation isn’t just a source of pride – it’s a core driver of our company’s growth.”
This award not only highlights our contribution to international trade, but it also reflects the power of collaboration. Our work wouldn’t be possible without the brilliant clients, designers, and technicians across the world who trust us to help bring their boldest ideas to life. From festivals in the Middle East to theatre productions spanning 3 continents, LUMINOUS effects are making waves far beyond UK borders.
It’s an exciting time at LUMINOUS, with more international projects on the horizon and new technologies on the way. Winning this award gives us even more energy to keep pushing creative boundaries and representing British excellence on the global stage. This latest honour adds to our growing list of accolades for international trade – including the King’s Award for Enterprise we received last year.
